Snow Through a Window
My skin has become a crocodile’s
As rough, bumpy goosebumps cover the surface.
Oh my God, it’s freezing in this damn house!
This could only mean one thing,
Winter is officially here.
I can no longer be in denial of how fast time flies.
For the leaves have fallen and a fresh blanket of white powder
Covers the ground blinding my eyes as the sun reflects on it.
The year is almost over, and I’m still stuck in this stupid house
With its peeling wallpaper, creaky floors
And busted windows that fly open when the breeze hits it.
I wouldn’t be surprised if I found a pile of snow in front of them.
I just hope this year I won’t accidentally wet my socks
As the frigid snow litters half the room.
Fuck, I really got to find a new place to stay.
Somewhere I can enjoy the snowflake fairies dance in the breeze
And the winter wonderland outside
Through a window, while sipping some cocoa
And reading a book while perched on the couch in my fuzzy snuggie.
